Recurrent Ovarian Cancer:
Challenges and Management Strategies
The majority of patients with ovarian cancer who undergo a combination of surgery and chemotherapy achieve a complete remission. Unfortunately, research has indicated that between 70%–90% of these women will have recurrence of their disease. Trying to navigate and understand treatment options, including the option of clinical trials, is paramount to achieving optimal outcomes. Oncology APNs must be aware of the latest therapies, symptom management strategies, and emerging research to counsel and act in the best interest of their patients. This symposium is designed to provide participants with the newest information on the treatment of recurrent ovarian cancer. Expert gynecologic oncologists will present the latest research, not only discussing current standards of care, but also highlighting promising novel chemotherapeutics and targeted agents. An expert panel discussion of clinical management strategies will follow each presentation. There will be ample opportunity to communicate with the faculty during these interactive sessions.
